Devoteewear's design tasks

StreamLine is a popular mobile banking app that enables users to manage their accounts, track expenses, and make transactions. The app, however, was facing usability issues that led to a decline in user satisfaction and engagement. Our goal was to redesign the app, improving its UX/UI to provide a seamless, intuitive, and enjoyable experience for users, ultimately increasing user retention and satisfaction.

Challenge

Working at Devoteewear presents its most demanding aspect as navigating remote work across varying time zones between myself and the manager. Our usual practice involves working late at night to accomplish tasks within a rapid turnaround, often completing them on the same day. Despite the swift pace, I've consistently applied my top skillset to every facet of my work. Additionally, this experience has marked my introduction to using Shopify, introducing me to a novel platform.

Results

Nonetheless, leveraging my rapid learning abilities and fostering effective communication between myself and the manager, we frequently achieve task completion within a mere three-hour window. During this time, I've managed to proficiently create over 40 marketing design pieces and meticulously edit more than 100 photos.

Process

At Devoteewear, my workflow unfolds in the following sequential steps:

  1. Initial Zoom Meeting: I commence by engaging in a Zoom meeting with the manager. During this session, the manager provides a comprehensive overview of the task along with precise instructions.

  2. Clarifying Questions: Following the initial briefing, I take the initiative to ask pertinent questions. This endeavor aids in delving deeper into the task's nuances and requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding.

  3. Research and Sketching: In the subsequent hour, I embark on a research phase, gathering relevant information and conceptualizing the task. This is followed by sketching out a preliminary version, allowing for rapid visualization of ideas.

  4. Second Meeting: Another meeting takes place with the manager, where I present my initial concepts. This interaction serves to lay out what I believe aligns well with the design's objectives.

  5. Final Design Implementation: Building upon the feedback received, I proceed to develop the final design. This stage involves iterative cycles, incorporating feedback and making necessary adjustments.

  6. Feedback Iterations: The final design undergoes multiple rounds of feedback and revision, with more than two meetings dedicated to this process. This meticulous approach ensures that the end result is refined and aligned with expectations.

This systematic approach, from initial briefing to iterative refinement, facilitates the creation of high-quality design outputs at Devoteewear.

Conclusion

Throughout my 7 months of engagement with this brand, I developed and refined my Graphic Design skills. I gained expertise in creating marketing materials strategically tailored to make a lasting impact on customers in the clothing industry. Embracing a proactive mindset was crucial, alongside mastering the proficiency to edit 20-30 images within a 2-hour timeframe.
