Design Process

Research & Analysis: I conducted user interviews, surveys, and analyzed in-app analytics to understand the pain points and user needs. We also studied competitor apps and industry trends to gather insights

Information Architecture: Based on the research findings, we restructured the app's navigation and content, prioritizing features and information according to user needs.

Wireframing & Prototyping: I designed low-fidelity wireframes to visualize the new layout and navigation, iteratively refining them based on user feedback. Afterward, we built a high-fidelity, interactive prototype to test the design.

Usability Testing: I conducted usability tests with a diverse group of users to validate the design and identify areas for improvement. Based on the feedback, we made necessary adjustments to the design.

Visual Design & Style Guide: I developed a cohesive visual language, including color schemes, typography, and iconography, ensuring consistency throughout the app. I also created a style guide to maintain design consistency in future updates.

“ Simon is an incredibly creative human! They have the exceptional ability to turn even the smallest and mundane task into a work of art. The appreciation for the small parts of the job is really going to accelerate them down a creative path in any direction they decide they would like to go. They are a great addition to any creative team that values design, and I am very glad I got the chance to work with Simon. ”

CEO, Co-founder | Redstamp

My typical daily workflow comprises the following steps:

1: I begin by jotting down my tasks for the day and allocating time estimates to each task, aiming to fill an 8-hour workday.

2: Based on the research findings, we restructured the app's navigation and content, prioritizing features and information according to user needs.

3: Throughout the day, I dedicate myself to the tasks at hand, immersing myself in the design process.

4: Simultaneously, I engage in continuous communication with relevant stakeholders to refine design options, ensuring a seamless and collaborative approach.

5: At the end of the day, I wrap up by having a brief meeting with my manager. During this meeting, I provide a report on the completion of my daily tasks and take note of any pertinent information that will guide my tasks for the following day.

Conclusion

In summary, my experience at Redstamp as a graphic web designer has been enlightening. Working alongside skilled designers, I've discovered the significance of design in enhancing a business's brand. Moreover, I've acquired the skill of professional client communication and gained insights into the collaborative nature of design involving diverse stakeholders. The key takeaway has been the realization that effective communication within the team is paramount for the seamless progress of projects, debunking the idea of design as a solitary endeavor.
